Carolyn I. Jacob, M.D. is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Harvard-Trained Cosmetic and Laser Surgeon, and an Associate Clinical Professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She is the Founder and Medical Director of Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
Dr. Jacob is a High Honors graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. In Biology, and attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine where she graduated in the top 10 of her class. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Northwestern’s Evanston Hospital, she was Chief Resident of Dermatology at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, and then completed a prestigious Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Skin Care Physicians.
Dr. Jacob is a well-known expert in cosmetic and laser treatments. She trains other Dermatologists and Dermatology residents nationally and internationally on injectable cosmetic aesthetics as well as energy-based devices. She has performed research on excessive sweat reduction with MiraDry technology, cellulite treatments, injectable aesthetics, body shaping with High Frequency Electromagnetic Energy (HIFEM) and radiofrequency (EMSCULPT/EMSCULPT NEO) treatments and more. She is the author of over 45 peer reviewed journal articles and 12 book chapters on cosmetic and laser surgery. She lectures nationally and internationally on the latest devices and treatments in cosmetic dermatology. Her expertise has been featured on Dr. Oz, Good Morning America, Good Day Chicago, WGN Chicago, ABC Chicago, CBS Chicago, Fox News Chicago, Windy City Live, NewBeauty Magazine and Print and Online media including CBS, USA Today, ABC, FOX News, Chicago Tribune, Esquire, Allure, Forbes, Women’s Health and Self Magazine.
When she is not working or lecturing, she enjoys spending time with her three children and very understanding husband.
