What is Fraxel?
The Fraxel Dual laser produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of tissue remodeling by the laser. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than other treatments because there is normal skin between the wounded areas.
Typically a series of treatments is performed for acne scars, surgical scars and accidental scars. Because the laser does not remove the top layer of skin, recovery is minimal with mild pinkness and slight swelling. Brown spots lighten after 3-5 days on the face and 12-14 days on the body, leaving smoother, clearer skin.
Recovery is improved by using the Alastin procedure enhancement kit, which includes Alastin nectar. The nectar is used twice a day, two weeks prior to and after treatment, to increase collagen and elastic tissue. The two main building blocks of the skin.
CCSD is one of the few providers of Fraxel Dual Technology in the Midwest and our providers have performed thousands of Fraxel treatments.
The Fraxel Dual has two different lasers within the device. The 1550nm wavelength and was originally called the Fraxel Restore. This is a deeper penetrating laser which helps treat acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles, and sun damage. The added wavelength, 1927nm, helps address brown spots on the face and other areas of the body and has been shown to help treat precancerous spots on the face.
