Fraxel Dual Resurfacing

Fraxel Dual Laser Treatment provides resurfacing of wrinkles and scars, as well as removal of brown spots on the skin with little downtime.

What is Fraxel?

The Fraxel Dual laser produces thousands of tiny but deep columns of tissue remodeling by the laser. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than other treatments because there is normal skin between the wounded areas.

Typically a series of treatments is performed for acne scars, surgical scars and accidental scars.  Because the laser does not remove the top layer of skin, recovery is minimal with mild pinkness and slight swelling.  Brown spots lighten after 3-5 days on the face and 12-14 days on the body, leaving smoother, clearer skin.

Recovery is improved by using the Alastin procedure enhancement kit, which includes Alastin nectar.  The nectar is used twice a day, two weeks prior to and after treatment, to increase collagen and elastic tissue.  The two main building blocks of the skin.

CCSD is one of the few providers of Fraxel Dual Technology in the Midwest and our providers have performed thousands of Fraxel treatments.

The Fraxel Dual has two different lasers within the device. The 1550nm wavelength and was originally called the Fraxel Restore. This is a deeper penetrating laser which helps treat acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles, and sun damage. The added wavelength, 1927nm, helps address brown spots on the face and other areas of the body and has been shown to help treat precancerous spots on the face.

What are the benefits of Fraxel Dual?

Smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin
Improved tone and texture
Reduction of unwanted brown spots
Reduced fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes
Improved appearance of acne scars and surgical scars

Fraxel is an in-office procedure. You come to the office either 30 or 60 minutes (depending on the wavelength) early to your laser appointment for a topical numbing medication to be applied. This allows any pain associated with the procedure to be mild. We provide even more patient comfort by utilizing the Zimmer Cryo 7, a cold air therapy that cools the skin during treatment.

Expect pink and mild swelling for 2 - 3 days. If swelling occurs it is usually the worst the morning after treatment and around eyes. Brown flaking in areas of sun damage can occur for 5 – 7 days. Speed of healing and results can be improved by using the Alastin Procedure Enhancement Kit.
