What is Coolsculpting?
The CoolSculpting® procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively, without surgery or downtime. This fat reduction treatment is the only FDA-cleared procedure to use controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate diet and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look and feel great from every angle.
CoolSculpting has long been a staff and patient favorite at CCSD, gently and effectively reducing fat in targeted areas of the body. During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers controlled cooling, or Cryolipolysis, to target and eliminate fat cells in specific areas, such as the abdomen, thighs, love handles, and bra line fat. This exposure to cooling causes fat cells to begin a process of natural removal, gradually reducing the thickness of the fat layer.
Freeze away fat? It comes down to science. Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.
It’s easy to sit back, relax and say goodbye to stubborn fat! After we select the area(s) to be treated, the device is positioned on your body and controlled cooling is applied. During your procedure, you may choose to read, check email, or even take a nap. We often follow CoolSculpting treatments with our Slimspec device. The Slimspec is a radial pulse technology device that creates measured shock waves of pressure to penetrate the treatment area and break down frozen fat cells, helping them to metabolize more efficiently. When used in conjunction with the CoolSculpting device, our office has found it provides a quicker recovery time and increased fat reduction!

An initial consultation is essential to knowing if you are a good candidate for CoolSculpting®. Typically this treatment is better for patients who are maintaining an ideal weight, struggling with small or stubborn pockets of fat that diet and exercise do not improve.
In order to provide you with optimum results, we typically recommend a package of 2-4 treatments, spaced one month apart. This will depend on the areas being treated and will be discussed with you at your initial FREE consultation.
As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.
Most patients notice a reduction in their fat pockets in 2-4 months.
There is no down-time with the procedure. You may experience slight tenderness at the treated area, or slight dull sensation for up to 4 weeks and this is perfectly normal. Slight bruising may also occur but can vary from patient to patient.
