What are injectable fillers?
Injectable fillers can be a safe treatment option when in the hands of a Board-Certified Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon who have an extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, a well-developed aesthetic eye, and a cosmetic surgeon’s skill and precision. These products can be used to improve smile lines, lines around the mouth (lip lines), marionette lines, enhance the lips, and even enhance the nose. A few simple injections can immediately improve unwanted facial creases. Fillers can also help erase under eye circles or hollows, giving you a fresher more youthful appearance.
Types of fillers available at CCSD
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. HA injectable fillers are typically soft and gel-like, which include lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. HA fillers can be used as lip fillers, to contour cheeks, define the jawline, and so much more! Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA)
The Radiesse CaHA gel matrix provides immediate improvement to the jawline, hands and cheeks. After treatment, the CaHA particles integrate into your skin and create a “scaffold” that stimulates your own production of new collagen and elastin over a 12 month period.
Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA)
As we age, the fat, muscles, bone, and skin in our face begins to thin. Injectable poly-l-lactic acid, also known as Sculptra Aesthetic, is used to create structure, framework, and natural volume to the face. It is often used to soften volume loss in the cheeks and lateral cheeks, as well as the temples. Sculptra is a bio-stimulatory injectable filler, which means it stimulates your own collagen production for thicker skin, and results that can last 2 years.
Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)
Bellafill Cosmetic contains tiny, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres that are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Once injected, it immediately reduces the look of smile lines and acne scars. Over time, your body uses the microspheres in Bellafill to create a “scaffold” onto which your own natural collagen can develop with results lasting up to five years.
